WOW, this one is a hard review to write not because I don’t know what to say about it, but because I was excited to see it after loving the first Zoolander. The movie starts off with a action filled and high paste scene. Which introduces the plot of the movie and why Zoolander (Ben Stiller) who is in hiding needs to come out of “retirement”. It also serves as a way to catch the audience up on what has been going on with Zoolander and Hansel who is played by Owen Wilson. The next installment of Zoolander will have a lot of what you are expecting based on the first movie and yes, Derek Zoolander is a moron as always.
They tried really had to make a story that would be good I think, and maybe they wanted to make another Zoolander but didn’t have ideas for a good story, so they threw in something and went with it. I did find it a little interesting that there was nothing that was off limits, they added jokes and jabs at everything that in today’s world we would just be shocked that people even talk about. The stereo types were alive and well in this movie and everyone had a shot at being insulted or ridiculed in one way or another. Even the people that cameoed in the movie seemed perfectly fine being made fun of even when I thought they were really being dragged through the mud. I guess that is show biz.
Overall, the movie was weak and I was sad. I wanted it to be good and I felt like I wasted my time watching it and would not want you to waste yours. Basically what I am saying is, if you have nothing better to do and I mean nothing, then watch this. I would wash my toilets and bath tub before watching this movie again. Maybe you just broke up with your boy friend or girlfriend and want to drown in sorrows, then watch this movie while eating ice cream. I don’t know how else to put it on how bad it was. I would even wait for a copy to show up at your local library to watch it because there you can borrow it for free and you won’t feel like you wasted your money. Hopefully you went to borrow a book and then decided to grab a copy of the movie then and it wasn’t a waste of money in gas. I hope that painted a picture of how disappointed I was for Zoolander 2.
