Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice – Review (No Spoilers)

Let me start by saying Zach Snyder. Genius. Gal Gadot is Wonder Woman. Ben Affleck is BATMAN! Henry Cavill is this generation Man Of Steel! This movie just blew my mind, I haven’t seen anything like this before and I thought the Avengers and Marvel movies like Captain America or Iron Man were mind blowing. I even felt like Marvel was taking off with their additional movies like Guardians of the galaxy, Thor etc… DC and Warner Bros. have brought us the movie we have all been waiting for and man does this deliver on a big, big way. I believe, and you might argue my thoughts, but I believe this movie will kill it at the box office, bigger than any superhero movie out there and that all the so called Marvel die hard fans are going to wish they had something like this existing in their lineup of movies._batman-v-superman-dawn-of-justice-trailer-1_12315 There I said it, and I will get a lot of flack for it, but so be it. Honestly, I have never been so excited to write a review about a movie I was hoping would be good and this went beyond my expectations.

Ok, I think that is enough gush and I could keep going, this would be easy to keep writing about and I have plenty to say. I want to give you a feeling of what I felt while watching this and I will not ruin or give you any ideas of what you will see, I will keep my word and keep this spoiler free. I want you to walk into the theater not knowing more than what you have seen in trailers, which by the way did not give anything away and there are plenty of great surprises in the movie. I can’t wait for you to watch it.

Batman-Ben Affleck, I want to start here because this is the highly talked about topic partly due to his Daredevil issues and I am here to tell you now, forget Daredevil and what he did with that movie. Ben Affleck is The Batman and he is probably even better than Christian Bale, I love the Christian Bale Batman as I also loved the Michael Keaton Batman, but Ben is The Batman. Got it. ok. He makes it his own character, he has the right emotions and I am liking his gritty tone to the character. The trailers give you a good glimpse of what you will see in the movie, that is all I am saying, just know that Ben Affleck is The Batman.

wonder womanGal Gadot as wonder woman is a great casting as well, she plays her part just right, you can tell she is a strong woman. Wonder Woman needs to be a strong confident woman and she shows it while making you believe in her character more. I liked the mysterious and playful interaction she had with Bruce Wayne as we get introduced to her and finally mixing her into the movie as shown in the trailers. When she came on screen the theater went crazy and made that moment even better for me, what great energy and excitement.

Henry Cavill is more and more Superman to me, he has the right balance and I enjoy watching his conflict as Superman unfolds in this movie. We all know that Clark tries to live his life according to what his parents taught him and when fighting crime and protecting the innocent he tries as well, but as he finds out it is not as easy as he thinks. We know who Superman is and in this movie we learn of the struggle he carried over from Man of Steel and how he is dealing with it while trying to live a normal life. The first movie made me like him doing the part of Superman and with this one he really seals the deal for me. Henry plays his character portrayal how I imagine Superman/Clark would be and that made it great for me, he was able to figure out internal and physical emotions that Superman would have if faced with these issues in real life. He made the character relatable and real to me so I was able to step into his shoes and know what he is going through.

supermanSo obviously there is a battle with Superman and Batman no spoiler there and all I am going to say it how great that scene was shot, done and completed. That was one for the books, the main event as Lex Luther would put it, Day vs night, and boy was it a rumble. In your mind and as everyone else would imagine, there is no doubt that Batman would lose this match. Zach envisioned this moment and delivered a great show for the audience. I won’t go any deeper on what happened, but needless to say it was great.

Overall the movie worked really good, the action was amazing and fit everything that was going on in the movie and I had many, many WOW moments, and waaaah?!? and OMG moments. I was in awe and speechless at the end of the movie, I had to process what I saw and had a hard time falling asleep that night because of everything that went on. I am going to see it again and again. I will save you the hassle, there is no end credit scene so just leave when you are done, you have been sitting for two and a half hours, so get up and stretch. I am very excited for this and I am just glad that it didn’t disappoint and all it did was deliver and deliver big time, I wanted to see it right after it ended. There was so much going on in the movie, many easter eggs, surprises, hidden things that I will not talk about and you will be so glad I didn’t and you will have a great time with this movie.

Go watch it and watch it again and you may want to see it a third time, there is so much you don’t want to miss and you will have fun this is a HUGE 2GO pick from me.

Love watching, talking and writing about movies i've watched. I want to help others sift through critic reviews, so you can watch a movie you may have missed out on because you were misled by a critic.
